To the left is the original Horde with the kobold leader in charge... To the right is the new Horde, replete with a shaman for backup!!!

Below, from left to right, are the recolored and new kobolds that can be used to wreak havoc on your players...

I wanted to put the highly underrated, and mostly underused, kobolds in the spotlight. Many an adventurer scoffs at the lowly creature. And though they are not big, though they are not strong, and though they are not smart... they are numerous! They are devious! They are wily! They are sadistic!

Any lair of kobolds will surely be filled with many traps, snares and alarms to help defeat any intruders. Spiked pits, net snares, deadfalls, poisoness insects, murder holes in the ceiling, arrow slits in the walls. These are what the intrepid adventurer is sure to find in these cowardly beasts' homes.

I did not make stat sheets for the kobolds. Use your own judgement with them, based on the original UA kobold stats. The guards and above may possibly reach up to 7th level fighter, while the shaman may be up to 5th level in mage and 8th in cleric. The chief will surely be of a higher level than his highest subordinate.

I suggest giving each kobold a level or two in thief ability, as they are a weak race and will take any advantage against the more powerful races they can get. Backstabbing is a great equalizer!

Another tactic they are known for is overwhelming an opponent with sheer numbers. I suggest giving the Hordes the owlbear hug ability to simulate this effect. I have tested it in combat situations, and other than the slightly odd wording of being 'hugged', works most excellently when coupled with a few backstabbing and spell casting friends! Hehehehe...

There are numerous exits from this grand, if filthy, cavern. Unfortunately, using them would mean a fight with the legions of kobolds guarding them! The only real option available to ye is to return to the Hallway.
